Sculpt, adhere, and blend realistic faux mushroom prosthetics onto skin using liquid latex and special effects makeup for a convincing parasitic fungus illusion.

Makeup and beauty mishaps are real. Your eyes, skin, and hair are not a car door — the damage is often permanent.

  • Patch test 24 hours first. Put any new product on a small patch of skin (inner arm) a day before it goes near your face. Cosmetic allergies are common and can be severe.
  • Nothing goes IN your eye. Scratched corneas from mascara wands and liner pencils are the most common makeup injury. Never use a product near your eye that is not sold for the eye area.
  • Lash and wig adhesive only. Never super glue, nail glue, or any household adhesive on skin, lashes, or scalp. These cause chemical burns and have sealed eyes shut.
  • No product substitutes. Hair spray, spray adhesive, and construction glue are not cosmetics. People have been hospitalized following internet beauty hacks.
  • Sharp tools cut and infect. Dermaplaning blades, cuticle nippers, and tweezers need clean hands and clean tools. Do not share them.
  • Chemicals burn. Dye, bleach, relaxers, peels, and removers: follow the manufacturer’s timing exactly, ventilate the room, and never mix two products.
  • Old and shared makeup carries bacteria. Do not share eye or lip products, and replace mascara every three months.
  • If it stings, burns, swells, or your vision changes — stop. Rinse with cool water and get medical help. Do not push through it.

โš ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings

๐Ÿ“‹ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)

1

Cleanse and Prep Skin Surface

Wipe the target area on the top of the foot with an alcohol wipe to remove natural oils, dirt, and moisture. Allow the skin to air-dry completely so adhesives bond firmly without slipping.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Top of the foot appears matte and free of moisture or lint.
  • โ€ข Skin is completely dry with no residual shine.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Leaving skin damp from lotion or sweat, preventing adhesive grip.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Do not rub aggressively on sensitive skin between toes.
2

Anchor Mushroom Stems with Adhesive

Dab a small circle of spirit gum onto the base of each clay mushroom stem and onto the target skin patches. Tap the adhesive with a fingertip until tacky, then press the stem bases firmly against the skin for 15 seconds.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Mushroom prosthetics stand upright independently on the foot without tilting.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Pressing the stem while spirit gum is still wet instead of waiting for it to become tacky.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Avoid sticking prosthetics in high-flex joint zones like the base of toes.
3

Build Flesh Transitions with Liquid Latex

Stipple thin layers of liquid latex around the base of each mushroom stem using a disposable sponge. Build up 3-4 feathered layers to create an organic, raised skin-mound transition that hides the stem attachment.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Smooth ramp of semi-translucent latex bridging the foot skin to the mushroom base.
  • โ€ข No sharp borders or visible wire stems showing.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Applying one thick glob of latex instead of multiple thin, dried layers.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Keep liquid latex clear of toenails to avoid difficult removal.
4

Set Base and Apply Irritation Tones

Dust translucent powder over all dried latex to eliminate stickiness and shine. Use a fine brush to stipple crimson and deep purple grease paint immediately around the base of each mushroom, mimicking inflamed, ruptured tissue.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Latex surface is completely matte with no tacky sheen.
  • โ€ข A bruised, irritated reddish-purple ring surrounds each sprouting stem.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Applying paint directly to unpowdered, sticky latex, causing streaks and clumping.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Use only cosmetic-grade SFX paints to prevent contact dermatitis.
5

Add Spore Texture and Finishing Details

Dab muted yellow and moss-green tones along the stem crevices with a stipple sponge. Lightly dust fine cosmetic powder or cornstarch around the caps to simulate powdery fungal spores, completing the parasitic effect.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Natural mottled fungal coloration with earthy green and yellowish spore dusting.
  • โ€ข Prosthetic seamlessly integrates into the surrounding foot skin.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Over-saturating with bright green paint, making the effect look cartoonish rather than decaying.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: When removing, dissolve adhesives fully with spirit gum remover rather than ripping latex off dry skin.
